Zur Bleibe

Zur Bleibe (In Order to Stay) is an ongoing cooking initiative in Basel that brings locals and asylum seekers together. It is a bottom-up socially committed community, based on voluntary work and donations. While I was an active member of the group, we changed both the location and the structure of our events. Although it was heavily influenced by the pandemic, we managed to settle a sustainable weekly Monday-dinner in one of Basel’s loveliest cafés. All the experience and knowledge I gained during these events will be used for a new research-based cooking book: YEMEK.
