2014 I Berlin
Werbungstüte (Shopping Bag) was a street art project during the Berlin Fashion Week. Around Warschauer Strasse we covered all the posters' models' faces with a symbolic shopping bag. This was to show a playful mirror to Berlin. The city, which was turning from a vintage paradise, with an anticapitalist attitude, into a globalised capital for event-hunting cultural tourists. Although it was a pessimistic joke, it was heartwarming to see how locals enjoyed our action. Mothers explained to their children why it was cool to draw attention to the sexist presentation of models. Passers-by also reacted to our joyful ruining with constantly encouraging comments.
