Totholz stehen lassen
2016 I Zürich
Totholz stehen lassen (Leave the Deadwood Standing) was a photo mural on the corridor of the Fine Art Department, ZHdK. Those days, I used to live and try to create in West-Zürich, a surrounding where only the new and fresh were welcome. I found this sentence in the forest of Ütliberg, and I took it with me as a fragment of a poem. It became a reminder of the bees and other insects that can only survive if we leave the old and dead-looking around. A reminder of diversity, which is only possible, if we are not obsessed with the new, the flourishing and the strong, but instead we see the value of the old, the wise and the weak.
