State of Affairs

State of Affairs was a performance to draw attention onto the different reactions we have about being in the same state. Visitors entered a completely dark room. They could only see the foggy glow-in-the-dark contour of Switzerland on the opposite wall. When they all approached it, we linked them together with the thread that formed the picture on the wall. While we slowly created a net between the visitors, the map of the country disappeared. Then, the light was suddenly turned on.

Some found it a children's game, some felt seemingly uncomfortable in this ‘bandage’, and some started a decent conversation with the others standing around.

State of Affairs was written and performed in cooperation with Kathrin Ambord.
