Istanbul Book Fair
2014 I Istanbul
When Hungary was the guest of honour at the yearly book fair in Istanbul, I designed the stall for this event. That was also the year when we opened the Hungarian Cultural Institute in Istanbul. During the design process I realised that fair-furnishing-industry is one of the less sustainable ones: almost all materials used at fairs are made for one-way use. To counteract this situation, I designed our stall with the attention to the needs of the new institute in mind. The stands, the tables and the chairs were designed to later become library shelves and furniture for the reading rooms of the new institute. Even the walls’ tarpaulin was to be recycled in an Earth Day workshop.
