IPek’s Beauty Salon

2016 I Zürich

IPek’s Beauty Salon was a series of performances with which I reacted to the fast-fashion way of the art scene’s cultural consuming habits. To provoke a longer stay that generates conversations and create an intimate milieu, I used the traditional socialising space of beauty salons. I started with gender-neutral nail polishing, which those days was a big deal. Later, inspired by a photo from the 90s, depicting two punks cutting each other's hair on Langstrasse, I cut hair at arty parties. The more I drank, the crazier hair-cuts I did for my clients.
