As an Istanbul-born half Bosnian, half Hungarian, I have been living in Switzerland for more than a decade. One of the most demanding challenges of my life is to handle my recurring homesickness, and to cope with the sorrow I carry since my childhood.
I have been healing myself with the ancient knowledge condensed in folk songs. By repeating sentences which centuries long helped people to survive painful farewells, my soul gets its peace as well.
With my Gurbet songs, I invite you to find your peace in your migration and wanderings. Be it a journey between cultures, landscapes or relationships, a peaceful farewell is the key to a harmonious beginning.
